An open-source system for automating deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications. Think of Kubernetes as the manager for shipping containers. Originally created by Google and written in Go, Kubernetes v1.0 was released in July 2015. Google then donated it to the Cloud Native Computing Foundation, which currently hosts the Kubernetes project, along with The Linux Foundation.
The Revelry clusters are built with Kubernetes. A Kubernetes cluster allows us to use a single pool of resources in the cloud to run or host applications that we build or manage.
