Meet Jeff Ramos: Youth Soccer Coach, Talent Recruiter, Mardi Gras Parader, and the CEO’s Little Brother

Jeff grew up in New Orleans, attended Auburn Montgomery University to play soccer, then moved in with Gerard in Lake Tahoe to help him with one of his companies. However, during a weekend trip back to New Orleans, Jeff went with some friends to a Metairie bar serving boiled crawfish and $1.50 Abita beers. In that moment, he knew he had to be back home.

And so, Jeff has been back in New Orleans for over 9 years now and loves it. From volunteering at local festivals to being a member of Krewe de Vieux, he’s thrown himself into local culture and has a blast doing so. Beyond les bon temps, Jeff has coached youth soccer since he was injured playing during college. “I’ve won 3 Louisiana state championships with my 12-year-old boys teams. Most days, I go right from work to running around with the kids. It’s a challenge when the kids are nuts, but it’s so rewarding.”

As the younger brother of our CEO, Gerard Ramos, Jeff has witnessed Revelry since its inception and has been amazed watching it grow to where it is now. “I wish I’d gotten in years ago,” he said. “Back when they worked out of the Woodshop and it was only 5 or 6 employees. It’s crazy what Gerard and Joel have grown Revelry to… I used to get beers with some folks after work at Mid-City Yacht Club, and they’d all rave about how they loved working there. I knew I wanted in, [eventually].”

The stars finally aligned, and Jeff officially came aboard earlier this year. Tapping on his experience with operations, people management, and marketing, he’s heading up the recruiting efforts at Revelry. This involves working with department heads to fill needs with excellent candidates, as well as conducting countless get-to-know-you interviews with potential candidates. Learning how to find the best talent is a challenge that he’s enthusiastic about, and he takes diversity and inclusion seriously with ongoing trainings.

“Even though most people love working at Revelry, we genuinely want to make this the best place to work. We’re always improving and upping our game.”

When asked who inspires him, Jeff replied, “G! How he manages his family, the company, I mean, he’s always on point. One minute he can go from being Super Dad, and the next, he’s on a call with prospective clients. His ability to turn it on and off is admirable.”
