Ross Garfield joined the Revelry team in 2022 and brings experience and expertise in Elixir, Phoenix / Liveview, React, and front-end development / Design Thinking.
A part of our engineering team, Ross contributes by building out new features across internal and partner projects, squashing bugs, and supporting his team with thoughtful code review and feature testing. He loves designing products with empathy for their intended users, and learning alongside knowledgeable, curious leaders and colleagues.
Originally from New York, Ross has lived in New Orleans since 2014 – a city he fell in love with during a family trip when he was in the eighth grade. He studied architecture at Tulane University and, upon graduating, chose to pursue his passion for cooking, working as a chef and butcher at some of the city’s most revered restaurants. Seeking new challenges after the pandemic, Ross started learning JavaScript in his free time; he found that web development, much like architecture and cooking, is all about solving problems. He joined Revelry as an apprentice following an engineering bootcamp with the Flatiron School.
In his free time, Ross enjoys running, playing basketball, live music, hanging with Fish (his cat), and cooking delicious meals for friends and family.
