  • Great place for lunch or drinks on the porch watching the streetcars go by. 

Domilise’s Po-Boy & Bar – 5240 Annunciation St

  • Dive. Some argue the best Po-boy in the city. Get it “dressed”.

The Chloe – 4125 St Charles Ave

Saba –  5757 Magazine Street

  • Chef Alon Shaya is amazing if you want some lighter fare. Great patio.
  • Ask for Heather. Tell her Jennifer and Chelsea sent you 😉

Jacques Imos – 8324 Oak St

  • Creole soul food. Get the Alligator Cheesecake. Fried Chicken is fantastic.
  • They don’t take reservations, so get there early.

Pascal’s Manale – 1838 Napoleon Ave

  • Open since 1913 and best known for BBQ shrimp and Italian dishes. 
  • Get Oysters at the bar

Zee’s Pizza – 3914 Baronne Street

  • All delicious! Order out if you must. 

Piccola Gelateria – 4500 Magazine Street 

  • 100% natural ingredients.
  • They also do crepes and coffee. YUM.

Mr Mao – 4501 Tchoupitoulas St

  • Locally sourced, global flavors, and small plates

Mosquito Supper Club – 3824 Dryades St

  • Cajun, seasonal, local ingredients, small seating
  • You must make a reservation and pay in advance.

Things to Do

  • Ride the green street car for all the sights on St Charles Avenue
  • Walk around Audubon Park Uptown
  • Visit shops on Magazine Street (between Washington Ave & Louisiana Ave OR Jefferson Ave to Nashville) – 5 miles of boutique local shops and restaurants
  • Enjoy live music at Tipitinas
  • Enjoy live music at the Maple Leaf Bar
  • Take in music and drinks at Le Bon Temps
  • Grab a snowball from Hansen’s Sno-Bliz, open since 1939. 4801 Tchoupitoulas St
  • Visit Port Orleans Brewery

Commander’s Palace – $$$$ – Washington Ave – Garden District

  • One of the oldest restaurants in New Orleans, dating back to 1880. Requires nicer attire.
  • If you have time before you arrive, watch Netflix “Commanding the Table.”
  • Great place for Jazz Brunch, lunch or dinner. 
  • Nice to ride the streetcar there and walk through Lafayette Cemetery No. 1 if you go before 3 pm

Ruby Slipper – 2802 Magazine St

  • Brunch/breakfast spot
  • Known for candied bacon and interesting take on eggs benedict & bacon infused bloody marys

Hot Tin – 2301 St Charles Ave (Rooftop bar at Pontchartrain Hotel)

  • Grab a drink and check out the city skyline 

Things To Do

  • Hang out at Tchoup Yard bar: grab some drinks and play some games
  • Visit shops on Magazine Street – (between Washington Ave & Louisiana Ave OR Jefferson Ave to Nashville) – 5 miles of boutique local shops and restaurants

  • Try the scallops

  • Dining and piano bar
  • Highly recommended by Sean Payton, former coach of the Saints

Muriel’s – at Jackson Square FQ

  • Check out the ghost table or the lounge upstairs while you wait

Mr. B’s – 201 Royal st FQ

  • Known for their gumbo. Grab some at the bar if you don’t eat in

Central Grocery – Decatur FQ

  • Dive with the best ever Muffalettas

Things To Do

  • Have absinthe at the Absinthe Bar
  • Walk around St. Louis Cathedral and Jackson Square
  • Walk around Royal Street in the French quarter; it’s filled with art galleries
  • Walk back on Chartres Street in the FQ – it’s filled with boutique shops
  • Visit the iconic Pat O’s. Enjoy the courtyard and get a Hurricane
  • Visit Lafitte’s Blacksmith Bar, the oldest bar in America
  • Stroll the art galleries on Julia street in the CBD Art District
  • Check out the WWII Museum, rated No. 8 museum in the world. It’s amazing!!!! Def watch the movie first. 
  • The Natchez or the Creole Queen boat tours are great
  • Take a ghost tour
  • Walk around the French Market. We especially love the cute 700-1010 block of Decatur street
  • Visit Preservation Hall on Bourbon Street. Be sure to get your tickets online and in advance
  • Visit the Polo Lounge at Windsor Court hotel for traditional Jazz with no cover
  • Grab pralines at Southern Candy Makers on Decatur. They make delicious souvenirs. 
  • Check out Hot Sauce. So many great ones to choose from. (Pepper Palace is our fav and if you yell loudly “Pepper Palace is awesome,” you get a free hot sauce!)
  • Learn about voodoo dolls at Marie Laveau’s House of Voodoo on Bourbon St.

Marigny/ Bywater

  • Perfect neighborhood vibe, Seasonal ingredients and great wine list

  • Dive with the best burger in the city
  • Get a potato and tiki drink with your burger

St Germain – 3054 Saint Claude Ave

  • Casual wine bar with separate dining area
  • Must make reservations to dine in

The Elysian Bar – 2317 Burgundy (in Hotel Peter & Paul)

Bacchanal – 600 Poland St 

  • Enjoy live music nightly
  • Wine, food and atmosphere is highly recommended, but you must get there early for seating
  • No cover, just buy food and drink

Things To Do

  • Check out Dr Bob Folk Art – Be Nice or Leave – 3027 Chartres St
  • Frenchman Street at night has several bars with live music, including Snug Harbor Jazz Bistro, The Spotted Cat, DBA, and Maison. All but Spotted Cat have cover charge. 
  • Enjoy live music nightly at Balcony Music Club- 1331 Decatur street
  • Visit Bywater BrewPub
  • Check out Music Box Village during the day or go at night and catch a show
