All metrics used by Revelry are focused around monitoring the health of our systems
Revelry uses metrics to make informed decisions about the products we’re building. Metrics help ensure that apps run smoothly by monitoring CPU, memory usage, response times, and more. Products fail when metrics are maxed out, so Revelry built alerts into our DevOps process that allow us to track and measure these accordingly.
Grafana and Prometheus are installed into Revelry’s Kubernetes cluster. Grafana is a tool that visualizes the data that Prometheus is pulling from our apps inside the cluster. These tools are community-supported, well-documented, and accessible by anyone. There’s a team of open source developers that are continually improving both products. Revelry uses an alert manager to detect any issues in the application before users ever notice a problem. As soon as the metrics are off, we get notified via Slack so that we can look into it immediately. Revelry prefers not to use proprietary products in order to keep costs down for our partners.
