Why do you do what you do?

I am passionate about developing software that can enhance and enrich people’s lives. As technology becomes increasingly more integrated in every aspect of our lives, Software Engineers have the responsibility and capability of shaping the future of our planet. I also enjoy the challenge of solving an interesting problem or coming up with a creative solution.

What are your favorite things to talk about?

Music, Cooking, Beer, Magic: The Gathering, and Dungeons & Dragons

What stood out about Revelry that drove your decision to join the company?

The focus on flexibility and creativity, and the culture of Revelry and the people who work here.

Where are you from originally?

River Ridge, a suburb outside of New Orleans

What mobile device do you use and what apps are on your home screen?

I have an iPhone, and besides the basic home screen apps (phone, messages, safari) I have Apollo, an iPhone client for Reddit

What non-digital product could you not live without?

My enameled cast iron dutch oven, I cook everything in it from gumbo to refried beans.

What could you talk about for days if you climbed up on your soapbox?

Class consciousness/workers’ rights.

Tell me more about that one wild or wacky job you held

I worked in many kitchens as a prep/line cook, but the wackiest job that I ever held was working the grill at Dat Dog. A fun bunch of co-workers and almost non-stop customers always made those shifts memorable

What’s the best thing about your job?

The freedom to call my own shot, and the knowledge that if I get mired in the details or can’t solve a problem my team is always there to help out/back me up.

Favorite thing about New Orleans?

As a lifelong New Orleanian, I love the laid-back culture and attitudes here. I’m a huge fan of New Orleans and Cajun cuisine. I also love brass bands and the general availability of live music.

Favorite restaurants?

Bahn Mi Boys, Felipe’s, and Blue Oak BBQ

What’s the best show you’ve ever been to?

In high school, I went to Voodoo Fest one year and saw Sonic Youth, Pixies, Beastie Boys, and Green Day.
